Arterra

October 10, 2007

Perhaps the most impressive part of the Arterra is the fact that it’s an environmentally sustainable building, very much in tune with the earth conscious San Francisco mind set. Designed by the famous Kwan Henmi. The Arterra is a smoke-free building, low emitting paint and carpeting containing no air pollutants, the trash chute is equipped for easy recycling, most everything in the lobby is recycled as well. Call it guilt free living…

According to the website:

The entry lobby features floors made of recycled glass and a wall of wood harvested from forest stewardship, certified sustainable forests. Elevator lobbies at each residential floor feature cork flooring, a rapidly renewable resource bamboo, a rapidly renewable resource, is used for all standard kitchen floors. The common-area carpet is manufactured in California using sustainable manufacturing techniques.
